The Sphere series developed from a desire to create a series of sculptures that was far more affordable than the public art installations or gallery pieces I have been making. I wanted sculptures that would be part of a larger series that would evolve and grow but could be made to order. It was important that the sculptures spoke directly to my aesthetic as an artist but remained affordable. With this in mind the Sphere series has developed over the last few years using a process that allows me to make each piece by hand and offer original contemporary sculptures to a discerning audience as well as newer art collectors.

— Formed by hand, Blue Fritz is comprised of hundreds of individually cut pieces of steel square stock that have been painted and welded together to form a sphere. Three shades of blue were selected to accentuate and compliment the rust that forms where the steel has been cut or welded. The sculpture measures 36" in diameter and weighs approximately 145 lbs. Comprised entirely from 1/2" thick steel, Blue Fritz is built to last for decades in harsh and outdoor environments.

— The Geocurved Sphere is formed from hundreds of individually curved and welded steel rods. Carefully bending each steel rod to the diameter of the sphere before welding helps in making the sculpture fantastically symmetrical. The sculpture weighs approximately 34 lbs and measures 36" in diameter.
Made from 1/4" thick steel rod, Geocurved will develop a rich patina of rust and will last for decades outdoors or wherever you choose to enjoy it.

— Overlapping sections of 1 1/4” x 1/8” hot rolled flat bar are hand rolled to a specific radius making Flatbar “superround” in this addition to the sphere series.

— An interactive sculpture, Rearrange is a exercise in composition. The elements are felt backed and magnetized to the steel surface or “canvas”. The viewer is invited to arrange them to evoke different moods based on placement.

— Inspired by the concept of the shark as an example of economy in design, the Shark series explores the species from a minimalist perspective. Each piece is an original from sculptor Travis Seeger. The Sharks can be displayed both vertically and horizontally. Requiring just one hanging point they can be hung safely in drywall with an appropriate fastener. Shark #2 weighs approximately 40 lbs.

Comprised of over 1,800 separate leaves, Pods stands 21’ tall and features three glistening stainless spheres perched atop gently curved rusted steel trunks. Representing community growth and vibrancy, the Pods are arranged as a familial metaphor for connection and belonging. Pods was completed in 2016 as part of Austin’s Art In Public Places Collection.
